Li veli

LI VELI HAS ALWAYS BEEN INHABITED. IT HAS BEEN A MEETING PLACE FOR MILLENNIA.
In Masseria you feel this ancient presence.
In the wood near the Masseria, the signs left by the first inhabitants are visible: once inhabited caves and sculpted stones that belong to the Eneolithic period, dating from between 2500 and 2300 BC.

HUMAN BEINGS HAVE ALWAYS LIVED THERE.
Li Veli is located in Salento, a middle ground between West and East, between the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, which has always been a meeting place between peoples. In the first millennium BC. this land was populated by the Messapians and their name means "people between the two seas". Here came the Greeks, the Romans. At the end of the 7th century AD. the "Limite dei Greci" was built, a fortified road near Masseria Li Veli which represented the border between the Lombard kingdom, to the north, and the Byzantine empire to the south.

LI VELI IS AN ANCIENT HOME OF DREAMERS BETWEEN THE WINDS AND THE SEAS.
