Description

Near Manduria there is a period residence surrounded by ancient Primitivo sapling vineyards over 70 years old, closed by a dry stone wall. This cultivation method is not new, in fact in France the Cistercian monks used to close some vineyard plots with walls to obtain fruit of different quality and maximum expression of the micro-soil. Felice Mergé, following this tradition, created the "closed vineyard" to produce the new Primitivo di Manduria Riserva "Piano Chiuso" wine, which represents the excellence of a territory with still little-known origins.

Intense and bright ruby red with an idea of garnet, of

great consistency. Wide on the nose, it indulges with sensations of
blackberry and cherry in alcohol, then violet and fern, black pepper
and cloves on a background of graphite and cocoa powder, the
all refreshed by balsamic air. In the mouth, elegance and power reign supreme, giving it freshness and flavor
very drinkable, and the ripe and very fine tannins caress
the palate preparing it for an almost interminable persistence.
