Description
Lucente is a Toscana IGT red wine, the result of a careful selection of Tenuta Luce vineyards, identified as being particularly suited to the production of a wine with a fruity profile and great pleasure; like Luce it is born from the union of Sangiovese and Merlot, which prevails in the blend.
LUCENTE 2019
Cold and sunny winter, spring was characterized by low average temperatures and high rainfall which allowed the creation of important water reserves in the soil. This situation of low light and rain resulted in a slight delay in the vegetative cycle of the vine. Flowering occurred between the last days of May and the beginning of June. The season then continued regularly, with a hot summer, without particular temperature peaks, with the presence of some rainfall between the end of July and the beginning of August. The mild September temperatures and good water reserves favored slow and regular maturation.
LUCENTE 2018
The 2018 vintage was characterized in the winter and spring period by higher than normal rainfall which allowed water reserves to accumulate in the soil, after the drought of the previous year. A humid spring, associated with high average temperatures ensured homogeneous vegetative development for the Sangiovese and Merlot. The additional rains during flowering slowed down fruit setting, naturally lowering the production load of the plants. The summer period was marked by a very regular climate, dry without excessive temperatures allowing rapid veraison of the grapes. The temperature range between day and night in September coupled with the north wind favored the ripening of the grapes with a magnificent aromatic evolution.
TASTE NOTE
At sight, the Lucente wine has an intense purplish red color. The nose is characterized by notes of ripe red fruit, raspberries and cherry are combined with sensations of vanilla and a light balsamic hint. On the palate the attack is soft, balanced, well supported by a pleasant freshness and smooth tannins, characteristics which together with the sweet aftertaste give the wine length and persistence
