Sauvignon from Friuli Venezia Giulia: Oenological Excellence Recognized by the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri

Friuli Venezia Giulia reconfirms itself as one of the most prestigious wine regions in Italy, with the recognition of the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri awarded to its best wines again this year.

Today, we will focus on the excellence of Sauvignon wines, a grape whose origin is disputed between Bordeaux and the Loire Valley in France, but which has found a home in Friuli Venezia Giulia since the 18th century.

The region's wineries offer a wide range of Sauvignons, characterized by citrusy and fragrant aromas that enchant the senses.

Among the prominent DOCs, the Colli Orientali del Friuli (COF) stand out for their marly-limestone soils and variable climates that influence production. The Collio DOC, with its hilly vineyards close to the Italian-Slovenian border, is another area renowned for the production of high-quality white wines. While the DOC Friuli Isonzo, along the course of the river of the same name, offers wines with intriguing aromas and an enveloping taste.

Among the protagonists of this selection, the Collio Sauvignon 2022 by Tiare - Roberto Snidarcig stands out as an icon in the wine scene, with a freshness and citrus fragrance that conquer the palate.

Vie di Romans presents the Friuli Isonzo Sauvignon Vieris 2021, an intriguing wine that embodies the oenological excellence of the region.

Vigna del Lauro's 2022 Sauvignon also deserves attention, with its characteristic varietal stamp and the beneficial philosophy that permeates the brand.

Grillo Iole, a company with a long family tradition, offers a Sauvignon that stands out for its intense gusts of boxwood and mint, while Tenuta di Angoris presents the Sauvignon Locatelli 2022, articulated and complex on the palate.

Villa Russiz, with its Sauvignon de La Tour 2022, celebrates a history of generosity and intuition, offering high-quality wines with a unique profile.

Ronco dei Tassi stands out with the Madame Sauvignon Selezione Collezione di Famiglia 2021, an extraordinary and complex wine that reflects the family's passion and commitment to wine production.

Colle Duga presents the Sauvignon 2022, characterized by an extraordinary performance that confirms the constant quality level of the winery over time.

Volpe Pasini stands out with the Sauvignon Zuc di Volpe 2022, a fresh and fragrant wine that enhances the intrinsic characteristics of Sauvignon in a modern key.

Schiopetto, heir to a legendary winemaking tradition, continues to amaze with its Collio Sauvignon 2022, while Denis Pizzulin offers the Sauvignon Lastris 2021, characterized by fragrant hints of rosemary flowers and mint.

Attems presents the Collio Sauvignon Cicins 2021, a wine that reflects the family's thousand-year tradition in the Collio area, while Murva presents the Sauvignon Corvatis 2021, which expresses the tenacity and commitment of the young couple of producers.

In conclusion, Friuli Venezia Giulia continues to demonstrate its excellence in the world of wines, offering a variety of Sauvignon that enchants the senses and reflects the skill and passion of its producers.
