Description

The Rosso di Montepulciano D.O.C. is a no-compromise choice by Poliziano. Produced only since 1989, we use only grapes selected from the most suitable vineyards to obtain a wine young, fruity, and full-bodied. Our production process is specifically designed to ensure suitable and not overly complex phenolic ripening.

The grapes destined for Rosso di Montepulciano are harvested about a week before those destined for Nobile, allowing optimal maturation.

The percentage of Sangiovese does not age in wood, but in concrete, to preserve its freshness, while the percentage of Merlot is aged in barrique to give the wine softness and fullness on the palate .

Poliziano

The beginning
Poliziano was born in 1961 when Dino Carletti bought the first nucleus of 22 hectares in love with his native land and its infinite winemaking tradition. His name is a tribute to just that. In fact, each native of Montepulciano is defined as Poliziano, among these the best known is the humanist and poet Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494), known as the "Poliziano", represented in the logo.

Professionalism
Federico Carletti, Dino's son, having completed his studies in Agriculture, took over the company management at the end of the 70s. He immediately made a professional and philosophical breakthrough by studying and working only proprietary grapes ("Estate Winery"). The company has grown over the years to reach the current 170 hectares of vineyards. Concentrated on quality viticulture, modern but respectful of the environment and tradition, he obtains a Vino Nobile of great depth that also manages to involve international taste.
