Reserve
Being a Reserve wine means being a wine subjected to a further aging period than that required by the production specifications of the wine itself. In particular, the aging period necessary for a wine to be defined as a Reserve is at least two years for reds and at least one year for whites.
The mention "Riserva" can only be applied to wines that have DOC and DOCG recognition, and which therefore have a specification that already defines every aspect of production. Reading the words "Vino Riserva" on the label therefore means finding yourself in front of a particularly fine wine, usually fuller-bodied and with a higher alcohol content, which often comes from vineyards that have been previously selected for their unique characteristics.
