Description
Masciarelli's Marina Cvetic Chardonnay Colline Teatine IGT is an oenological gem from Abruzzo, a wine that embodies the perfection of the region. Harvested in the first half of September, this wine is the result of meticulous vinification, with a 12-hour cryomaceration in the press and fermentation in new French oak barriques. Subsequently, it spends 12 months in barrique and another 12 months in the bottle to reach its maturity.
Again of Burgundian inspiration, this Chardonnay Colline Teatine IGT is the first international grape variety planted by Gianni Masciarelli in Abruzzo in the 1980s. Its first vintage was produced in 1991, proving that Abruzzo can compete with its great cousins from beyond the Alps.
On the nose, this extraordinary wine offers extremely pronounced notes of lemon curd, spices, jasmine, guava peel, vanilla and cloves. On the palate, it is flavorful and almost buttery, with fleshy tropical fruit that creates a sense of texture. The important acidity leads towards a long and satisfying finish.
The ideal pairing for Marina Cvetic Chardonnay Colline Teatine IGT is with dishes based on fish, seafood and hard cheeses. This wine is perfect for special occasions, romantic dinners or to celebrate an important moment.
