Description
Lucente a Toscana IGT red wine, the result of a careful selection of vineyards from Tenuta Luce, chosen for their particular suitability to produce a wine with a fruity profile and great pleasantness; like Luce, it is born from the union of Sangiovese and Merlot, the latter prevailing in the blend.
LUCENTE 2019
Cold and sunny winter, spring was characterized by low average temperatures and high rainfall which allowed the creation of important water reserves in the soil. This situation of low light and rain resulted in a slight delay in the vine's vegetative cycle. Flowering occurred between the last days of May and early June. The season then continued regularly, with a warm summer, without particular temperature peaks, with some rainfall between late July and early August. The mild temperatures of September and good water reserves favored a slow and regular ripening.
LUCENTE 2022
The 2022 vintage began with a sunny and cold winter, slightly delaying bud break: late March for Sangiovese and early April for Merlot. Then, the warm and dry spring made up for lost time, with a perfect flowering between May and June. Summer played hide and seek with some refreshing rain between July and August, helping the plants grow strong and healthy. Harvest started on August 28 with Merlot and ended at the end of September with Sangiovese, under a clear sky and ideal temperatures.
TASTING NOTES
Visually, Lucente wine presents an intense violet-red color. On the nose, it is characterized by notes of ripe red fruit, with raspberry and sour cherry joined by hints of vanilla and a slight balsamic touch. On the palate, the attack is soft, balanced, well supported by a pleasant freshness and smooth tannins, features that together with the sweet aftertaste give the wine length and persistence.
