Description

The Brunello di Montalcino Biondi-Santi is the first Brunello in history and has embodied for 150 years the vision that inspired Clemente Santi in the creation of his first expression in the 19th century. It is today, as it was then, a distinguished wine with a complex and refined personality.

THE 2004 VINTAGE
A seasonal trend characterized by a cold and rainy spring. June, July, and August are warm and dry with significant temperature fluctuations and well-spaced rains. September is dry. The harvest began on September 20.
THE ORIGIN
The Brunello 2004 was produced with the Sangiovese Grosso BBS11 clone (Brunello Biondi Santi 11), identified and selected by Biondi-Santi at the Tenuta Greppo in the 1970s. For this Brunello, grapes from vineyards aged between 10 and 25 years were used.
THE REFINEMENT
The Brunello 2004 was aged for 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels. It has benefited from a very long aging in the bottle.
