Magaddino

A company inspired by the production of elegant and fresh wines, in a land handed down for three generations that smacks of history, tradition and experience.

It isa beautiful story of Sicily that of the Magaddino winery. The founder Simone Magaddino, with care and passion, takes care of cultivating the vineyards to produce excellent grapes. In 1981 his son Angelo Magaddino inherited 25 hectares of land cultivated with vineyards and continued to carry on the family business.

The turning point came in 2016, with the entry into the company of Angelo's children, of which the youngest, Mariangela, is a winemaker, with great training experience abroad. With an investment in new techniques and technologies in the agricultural field to keep up with the times, comes the first winemaking, strongly desired by the young people and supported by their father Angelo.

Three labels, coming from native vines, a Grillo, a Nero d'Avola and a Catarratto, all pure, unique wines that express in the glass the typical nature of the Trapani area thanks to the calcareous soils that give the wines intense aromatic qualities. And the first recognitions didn't take long to arrive. At the “ La Selezione del Sindaco ” wine competition, in 2017 Grillo and Nero d'Avola were awarded a gold medal.

Today, in just over three years of activity, the Magaddino company can boast a total of 11 medals, the latest obtained at the "Portugal Wein Trophy 2019" (3 gold medals) and a silver medal for Grillo at the competition “Mondial de Bruxelles 2019”.

«Our wines - says the young oenologist, Mariangela Magaddino - taste of Sicily, a Sicily full of colours, memories and flavours, of traditions and family, where the vineyards find their natural habitat to offer wines elegant and with intense aromas." Among the references that obtained the greatest number of medals, Nero d'Avola Doc Sicilia 2017, with a ruby red color, with notes of berries and a full, velvety and persistent flavor with fascinating hints of vanilla.

Among other things, Magaddino wines are characterized by an excellent quality-price ratio.
