Description
The Chardonnay DOC - Girlan is a wine of intense straw yellow color, characterized by a fruity aroma with notes of apple and pear and a mineral finish. On the palate it is dry and fresh, with good structure and a long persistence. An elegant and balanced wine that best expresses the typicality of the Trentino Alto-Adige territory.
The cultivation of the Chardonnay grape variety has a long tradition in Girlan. The dry aroma, particularly fine and delicate, the full body, elegant and lively on the palate make Chardonnay a popular aperitif and it is paired with appetizers, fish, and white meat.
Production area
The grapes are grown in the subzone "Girlan" on the hills of Oltradige, at an altitude of 450 - 500 m above sea level, and in Egna in the Lower Adige Valley in well-ventilated vineyards. The production soil is rich in minerals, formed from sediments of the glacial era.
Vinification
The harvest is done manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. Gentle pressing and racking for natural sedimentation of the must. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats and aging on fine lees in stainless steel tanks.
