Description

“Sperone” is the result of the vinification of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Montepulciano grapes grown in the Aprilia area. Merlot in the Lazio region has a long history, which rests its roots around the 1950s, with the migration of many families from the North who saw an excellent opportunity in the cultivation of the lands of the Pontine area, up to that moment. difficult because not yet subjected to reclamation work. The grapes that produce this wine grow on volcanic soils, with good exposure to sea winds and the right exposure to the sun.

Sperone was our first wine produced in 2012; it is a blend of merlot (60%), cabernet sauvignon (30%) and Montepulciano (10%) which expresses the great varietal expression of the grapes, leaving great space for the territory. On the nose, notes of small red fruits, toasts and tobacco anticipate a drink characterized by flavor, high concentrations and a tannin that is felt without being invasive.

AT THE TABLE

This wine is presented in the kitchen with the desire to accompany all-round mountain dinners, preferring, however, appetizers based on cold cuts and soft cheeses and first courses of traditional Roman cuisine. Thanks to its tannin, Sperone also goes well with game dishes.
