Description
Chardonnay DOC - Girlan is a wine with an intense straw yellow colour, characterized by a fruity aroma with notes of apple and pear and a mineral finish. On the palate it is dry and fresh, with a good structure and a long persistence. An elegant and balanced wine, which best expresses the typical nature of the Trentino Alto-Adige area.
The cultivation of the Chardonnay grape has a long tradition in Girlan. The dry aroma, particularly fine and delicate, the full body, elegant and lively on the palate make Chardonnay a popular aperitif and is paired with starters, fish and white meat.
Production area
The grapes are grown in the "Girlan" sub-area on the Oltradige hills, at a height of 450 - 500 m above sea level, and in Egna in Bassa Atesina in well-ventilated vineyards. The production soil is rich in minerals, formed from sediments from the glacial era.
Vinification
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. Delicate pressing and racking for natural sedimentation of the must. Controlled temperature fermentation in stainless steel vats and aging on fine yeasts in stainless steel tanks.
